Bavaria

Bavaria not only a homeland, but also a special combination of attitude and lifestyle. Our region is also not necessarily Bavaria’s tourist hotspots but primarily a place for all kinds of people and companies to enjoy and appreciate living.
Tradition

In Bavaria traditions are practised and enjoyed probably a bit more than in other Federal States. The traditional costumes for example mainly appear at cultural events such as folk festivals, processions or pilgrimages. But you will seldom come across a Lederhose and Dirndl in everyday working life.
Food

Bavarian cuisine is defined by substantial, hearty delicacies and snacks such as Breze (pretzel), Weißwurst, roasts and dumplings. However, the vegetables grown in our region bring culinary variety to the table. The asparagus from Schrobenhausen is also known as a delicacy beyond our borders.
Beer

Beer is regarded as a staple food or also as a fifth element in Bavaria. The German purity law originated in Ingolstadt in 1516 and hops from Hallertau, the largest hop-growing area in the world, are used to brew beer throughout the globe. Furthermore: Children are not reared on beer ...
Environment

We love our unique countryside, are proud of our woods, rivers and lakes and look after fauna and flora. Protection of the environment is very important to us to preserve the variety of native species and all the administrative districts have the “free of genetic engineering” label.
Religion

Bavaria and our region are largely Roman Catholic. A large number of monasteries and churches decorate the landscape, and in many places religious holidays and customs are still celebrated widely. Despite this, everyone can and is allowed to live according to their own religion and their beliefs.
